The Lavender Glen subdivision came into being when a declaration was filed in the Athens Clarke County Courthouse on October 8, 1999. The first homes were started shortly thereafter with the subdivision being completely filled by about 2005. The Lavender Glen Homeowners Association was formed in earnest in 2002 and policy resolutions started in December of that year. Since that time there have been improvements to the entrance, the green space area and the acquirement of an empty lot on Wisteria Way for a future neighborhood park.
